Beaumont Lodge Primary School is proud to be an Eco School. Our Eco School Green Flag award would not be possible without the work of our Eco-Committee!
We are the Eco-committee and we work as a team to support our school in becoming more eco-friendly! We meet regularly and explore areas our school can work on. Recently, we have been conducting surveys about transport use and wastage. We have developed ways of using our grounds more effectively, which has included developing the school garden. Take a look below at the Eco-committee updates (most recent first).

Severn Trent visits BLPS On Friday, we had a special assembly about water. Phil, from Severn Trent Water, told us many interesting facts about water, including how it is treated, how it gets to our homes and how much water is on our planet compared to the time of dinosaurs. He had a number of helpers from the audience who participated tremendously! |

Eco-Committee Gardening update We have a range of seeds that have been planted and growing in a greenhouse for the past 6 weeks. Now they have sprouted into seedlings. We enjoyed giving our parents the opportunity to see the seedlings before they are planted in our school garden.

Litter picking success! Our Eco-Committee held a Litter Picking event. They recruited members of their class and brought them along to the briefing where health and safety information was shared. Pupils then worked well as a team collected a range of litter on the school grounds. We found there was a lot of litter along the border of our grounds, under the bushes. We collected quite a lot from only one section of our grounds!

Perfect Potato competition! Well done to our Eco-committee for running a very successful potato competition to raise funds for the garden. The Eco-committee found it very tricky to choose the winners due to the vast number of amazing entries we received. We managed to raise over £100 for our school garden! Thank you for your participation and support! |

Eco-Committee Gardening update Our Eco-Committee and members of their class spent time in the school garden. The children worked well as a team to clear the weeds before laying membrane and bark down. They filled up the planters with compost and started to plan where the seedlings should be planted. |
